The security of the OnePlus online store has once again been flawed . The smartphone maker reveals that an unauthorized third party has been able to retrieve data related to its customers. During the attack, hackers were able to get their hands on customer data. The following information was exposed: names, contact numbers, orders placed, email addresses and physical addresses of users . OnePlus certifies that the passwords, as well as the account and payment information have not been affected.

“We are contacting you directly because we have discovered that some of your order information has been accessed by an unauthorized third party” says OnePlus in an e-mail sent to customers. “We can confirm that your payment information, your password and your account are safe, but your name, phone number, e-mail address and shipping address may have been displayed” continues ‘E-mail.

OnePlus ensures that it has taken steps to block unauthorized access as quickly as possible and to increase its security. “Right now, we are working with the relevant authorities to continue investigating this incident and protect your data,” says the brand. “We are deeply sorry and we are committed to doing everything in our power to prevent such incidents from happening again,” concludes OnePlus.

This is not the first time the OnePlus online store is targeted. But this time hacking attack is not that severe comparing to the one experienced by the company in January 2018. At that time, nearly 40,000 users were affected since the hackers were able to get their hands on the payment information of the customers cards.

Surprisingly, this time OnePlus did not communicate the number of users troubled by this fault and it is not likely that it will.
